Vintage Motobecane

(not getting this one. this is someone else’s. but one close to it.)

i’ve been thinking. an old french bicycle would be the sugary pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles on top of my new squatter’s lifestyle. my heart is already twittering. it’s all part of the big game plan. simply: if i ride a bike, i have cut out two bills immediately. car insurance and fuel. in the long run, i might find that i have cut out three bills. by exercising, i might stay healthy enough that i won’t have any major medical bills. but, more importantly, in the big, BIG picture…this is one teency step towards personal independence from fossil fuels. air and water–preferably clean– two of the most basic things we need for survival. i’m taking a step towards that. it’s that simple. no fear…just reality.

I love that you’re ditching your car for a bike. For some reason a bicycle has always spelled out “freedom” much more clearly to me than a car ever will.
